Flow-3D simulation for coating applications

In this technical webinar, CFD Engineer Allyce Jackman discusses how to model thin-film and coating processes using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software FLOW-3D. After reviewing FLOW-3D’s fundamental modeling capabilities with free surfaces, surface tension, phase change and moving objects, Allyce dives into examples of applications that include slot coating, roll coating, curtain coating, as well as coating on porous media, and drying. A validation of the onset of ribbing defects in roll coating is also presented.

Who should watch: Coating process engineers, R&D engineers and scientists in polymer physics, fluid characterization, materials science, thin film coating.
